GUWAHATI, Nov 29 - With the picnic season round the corner, the state government has issued a notification constituting District Picnic Monitoring and Supervisory Committees (DPMSC) in all districts that will monitor picnic activities.
Deputy Commissioners of districts shall act as the chairman of the DPMSC, which shall have members from the departments of Home, Forest, Health, Finance, Tourism, PWD along with urban local bodies, and disaster management.
The DPMSC shall notify the picnic spots, keeping in view the aspects of environmental safety, sustainable tourism, minimum interruption in residential areas, schools, hospitals and any means of transport along with public safety.
Picnic parties shall have to abide by the rules and disobedience to the same shall lead to penalty.
