The Lead District Manager also disclosed that the national School Bank Champs programme Paise Bachao Sapne Sajao launched by the Indian Bank Association (IBA) and supported by the Child and Youth Finance International, is aimed at promoting social and financial education for children and youth so as to help them know how to access financial services through a bank account, which is a crucial first step in helping children and youth to become economically active society members and promoting financial inclusion.

This programme shall educate and empower children to use personal savings and social entrepreneurship as a means to fulfil their dreams. As such, every bank branch of the district will be a partner of one school. All students aged 10 years and above will soon be covered through bank accounts opened in their names.

The meeting was attended by more than 100 people, mostly women, along with the officials from NRLM, Chandrapur block, AGVB-RSETI, local bodies, etc.

It is worth mentioning here that the Kamrup district administration has brought the KCC loan under e-tracking system recently as a part of e-initiative and efforts are on for bringing the sponsorship of disposal of Weavers Credit Card (WCC) and Self-Help Group (SHG) under e-tracking system.
