District admin appeal on bhoomi pujan

GUWAHATI, Aug 4 - In view of the pandemic, the Kamrup (Metro) district administration today appealed to all organisations not to organise any public event as part of the Ram Mandir bhoomi pujan at Ayodhya on Wednesday.

Kamrup (M) Deputy Commissioner Biswajit Pegu also made it clear that there will be no restrictions on organising any programme to mark the occasion at home by following all COVID-19 related norms.

VHP hails occasion: The VHP Guwahati Mahanagar Samity while hailing the Ram Mandir bhoomi pujan, today paid tribute to the karsevaks whose sacrifices made the dream a reality. The Samity will celebrate the occasion by lighting lamps in the evening.

Meanwhile, the Samity has decided to celebrate the upcoming Janmastami in an austere manner subject to the pandemic situation taking a turn for the better, said its president Santi Kumar Singha.
