JALUKBARI, Dec 13 - The Department of Economics, Gauhati University, is organising a programme �Conversation on Demonetisation and its Probable Impacts� on December 16.
Prof Abhijit Sen, former member, Planning Commission and Prof Atul Sarma, member, l3th Finance Commission, will talk to teachers, students and research scholars. The conversation will be moderated by Prof Gautam Mazumder, member of the North Eastern Economic Association and a professor of Cotton State University.
The conversation will be part of the 18th annual meet of North Eastern Economic Association. The conference will start with a workshop titled �Emerging Issues of Research in Economics�, to be conducted by Prof Dipannwita Sarkar and Jayanta Sarkar from Queensland University, Australia.
Other invited resource persons including Prof HK Nath, Dept of Economics and International Business, Sam Houston State University, US; Prof Kiril Tochkov, Dept of Economics, Texas Christian University; David Sinate, Chief General Manager, Exim Bank and Prof Ranjula Bali Swain, Soderto University, Sweden will deliberate on various issues around the focal theme �Agriculture in North-East India: The Present Status and the Scenario�.
A pre-conference workshop on �Emerging Issues of Research in Economics� will be held on December 15.
