GUWAHATI, Oct 5 - An open discussion on human rights of elderly people was organised by the Senior Citizen Health Care Services, Guwahati on the rooftop of Bipanan Khetra, Panjabari Road, on October 2, according to a press release issued here today.
The human rights of elderly people, the present scenario of the same, present legal provisions and recommendations were discussed at the event. Senior citizens from different organisations, professions and socio-economic backgrounds shared their experiences and views on the points that were discussed at the programme.
The press release further informed that the experiences and knowledge shared by the participants are being evaluated to formulate recommendations and a model for a pilot project to improve the human rights scenario of elderly people.
