Discourse on RTE held at Rowta

UDALGURI, Dec 4 - The Udalguri District Legal Service Authority (DLSA) held an extensive discourse on Right to Education (RTE) at Gerua High School in Rowta on December 1.

A press release issued by the DLSA informed that R Choudhury, court manager of Udalguri Court conducted an interactive session on the Right to Education where a good number of students along with their parents and teachers participated.

The parents of the school-going children shared their thoughts on a series of problems being faced by them regarding the present education system in the district. The DLSA assured the parents and general public to bring their grievances to the notice of the district elementary education officer here.

J Brahma, advocate of Udalguri Court spoke on the NALSA scheme regarding free legal service to the poor people, womenfolk and also to persons belonging to the ST/SC community.

It may be mentioned that the DLSA has already organised a series of awareness campaigns in various schools and tea gardens of the district where people from all walks of life participated. One such awareness campaign was held very recently at Udalguri District Jail where R Lal, assistant sessions judge and secretary of DLSA, Udalguri and D Bora, assistant commissioner, R Khaklary elaborated on the welfare schemes being provided by the DLSA to all, including the inmates of jails.
