SILCHAR, June 4 - A day after students of Swami Vivekananda Junior College of Kathal Road Silchar stormed the college campus demanding their results of the Higher Secondary examination, the Inspector of Schools, Cachar District Circle has closed down the process of admissions into HS first year course for all three disciplines in the college.
The Inspector of Schools for Cachar District Circle, Anup Kumar Das, in an order issued on Friday has said that in consultation with the Controller of Examinations of the Assam Higher Secondary Education Council, the admission process shall remain closed with immediate effect until further orders.
It may be mentioned that after the results of the HS examination were announced, around 200 students of the college together with some guardians gheroaed the college campus on Thursday seeking results. However, the college management failed to provide the results. The principal of the college is absconding.
