GUWAHATI, Feb 24 � The Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) today said that for issuance and renewal of trade licence to business establishments located on GS Road prior approval would have to be obtained.
�� it is hereby directed that in case of issuance and renewal of trade licence to business establishments located on either side of GS Road prior approval of authority should be obtained,� said an order issued by the civic body.
It said that proposal for issuance and renewal of trade licence should be forwarded along with Occupancy Certificate, details regarding parking space (how many four-wheelers and two-wheelers can be parked), assessment of property tax at commercial rate, up-to-date payment of property tax and details regarding agreement with NGO or proof of payment to NGO for solid waste management.
The GMC said the latest directive has been issued as it was observed that many of the commercial establishments are running their business from premises which do not have adequate parking space and buildings are not assessed to property tax at commercial rate.
Many business establishments are running in the buildings in contravention of occupancy certificates, it added.
