GUWAHATI, July 13 - Grand Master Diptayan Ghosh clinched the 2nd International Fide Rating Chess Tournament title which was held at the Desbhakta Tarun Ram Phookan Indoor Stadium auditorium in RG Baruah Sports Complex here. He was awarded with a trophy and prize money of Rs 50,000. The tournament which started on July 8, concluded today. Altogether 251 players from different states participated in the tournament.
Top five players: Muthiah Al of Tamil Nadu, FM Sai Agni Jeevitesh J of Telangana, CM Aronyak Ghosh and GM Saptarshi Roy Chaudhary. Other prize categories included best Assam, best Guwahati, best NE, U-7, 9, 11, 13, 15 and 17 years.
