JORABAT, Sept 16 - Irked by frequent and long power cuts, the Dimoria regional unit of All Assam Students� Union (AASU) along with several local residents today marched to the electricity office at Sonapur and submitted a representation seeking uninterrupted power supply.
The AASU team, led by Dipu Zena Sharma, presented the representation to the sub-divisional officer (SDO), Bikash Ranjan Bharali.
In the memorandum, the students� organisation said that frequent and long power cuts had become a routine affair in the area and the students and business establishments were among the worst sufferers, particularly in this scorching heat.
The AASU members also told the SDO that frequent power fluctuations have damaged electrical appliances and fittings at many households in the area and asked him to look into the matter.
