Dimapur police issues look out notice

DIMAPUR, March 12 � After arrest of 48 persons till March 11 for their alleged involvement in jail break and lynching of a rape accused in Dimapur on March 5, Nagaland Police has issued a �Look out notice� with photographs of individuals who are reportedly absconding.

�Based on concrete and credible evidences which is in the possession of Police, the individuals featured in the photographs have been identified as being directly involved in the March 5 incident at Dimapur�, a notice issued by Additional SP & PRO of Dimapur police said.

Dimapur police also advised the individuals who featured in the photographs to present themselves at their respective police stations.

�If the individuals do not voluntarily turn themselves in, the parents or wards of these individuals are to produce them in the respective police stations,� the notice said.

It also asked the student unions/GBs/colony chairmen to produce them in the police stations.

Dimapur police warned it will continue to look out for the featured individuals and detain them as per the law as and when they are tracked down.

Meanwhile, Dimapur Magistrate Kesonyu Yhome has notified that prohibitory orders under Section 144 CrPc will continue to be in force in Dimapur town in order to maintain law and order situation with further relaxation from 6 am to 9 pm with effect from March 12.

Special Investigation Team (SIT) of Nagaland Police arrested 48 persons as of Wednesday while two others had applied for anticipatory bail before their arrests.

The arrests were made on the basis of prima facie evidence after going through video clippings related to March 5 incident. This was disclosed by IGP (Range) Wabang Jamir while addressing media persons at Dimapur SP office.

He said two others who were to be arrested had obtained anticipatory bail from a court.
