HAFLONG, Oct 6 - A Ray of Hope (AROH), a frontline non-government organisation based in the district of Dima Hasao, has received the Chief Minister�s Best Community Action Award 2016, the organization�s president Mithun Sarkar said. The award carries a cash prize of Rs 5,000.
Founded in June last year, the AROH society, in collaboration with several bodies, has been organising free medical camps, plantation programmes, cleanliness drives etc., with an aim to bring about a positive change in the society. During the last devastating floods at Harangajao and Dittokcherra, the AROH society had done a remarkable job by providing relief materials on its own.
Mithun Sarkar said AROH�s future projects include a computer education centre for BPL students.
