Dibrugarh produces 3 toppers in HSLC

DIBRUGARH, June 6 - The district of Dibrugarh on the whole has produced at least three toppers in the HSLC examination conducted under Secondary Education Board of Assam (SEBA). The toppers from the district are � Alangkrita Gautam Baruah (2nd rank) of Salt Brook School here, Manash Uttam Neog (5th) of Nilmoni Adarsha Jatiya Vidyalaya, Tingkhong and Anandita Konwar (10th) of nearby St Xavier�s School.

Alangkrita Gautam Baruah secured an aggregate of 594 marks, Manash Uttam Neog garnered an aggregate 589 marks while Anandita Konwar scored altogether 584 marks. Alangkrita has scored full 100 marks in General Mathematics, General Science, Social Science and Advanced Mathematics. Manash scored full 100 marks in General Mathematics, General Science and Social Science while Anandita scored full 100 marks in General Science and Advanced Mathematics.

Alangkrita Gautam Baruah is the daughter of Gautam Kaushik Baruah and Ranjana Saikia Baruah of Chiring Chapori. She intends to be a doctor and, therefore, seeks to pursue her studies in the Science stream.

Manash Uttam Neog is the son of Bhaskar Neog and Rijumoni Neog of Nilmoni. He too wants to study Science as he aims at becoming an Engineer in he future.

Anandita Konwar is the daughter of Nitya Nanda Konwar and Leena Konwar of nearby Kutuha Majgaon. She too wants to be a doctor and, therefore, wants to join the Science stream.

The performance of Dibrugarh district in general has improved from the previous year. The pass percentage of the district last year was 56.89. Out of 13,676 students, 8795 (64.31%) students passed the examinations. Among the successful students, 2280 students secured first divisions, 2815 students were placed in the second division and 3700 students passed in the third division.
