DIBRUGARH, July 28 - The district administration today expressed heartfelt condolences at the demise of former President of India Dr APJ Abdul Kalam. All the administrative officers and employees of the office of the Deputy Commissioner here observed two minutes� silence at a condolence meeting held on the occasion.
Similar condolence meetings were also held at the Dibrugarh University and at several schools and colleges in the city.
The Sadau Asom Karmachari Parishad also held condolence meetings throughout the State today. News of similar condolence meetings have also been received from offices of political parties, social and literary organisations and various clubs in the city. Similar news of condolence meetings today have been received from Oil India Limited (Duliajan), Brahmaputra Valley Fertilizer Corp Limited (Namrup), ONGC (Sivasagar, Nazira and Jorhat), IOC (Digboi), Assam Gas Company Limited (Duliajan), Assam Petrochemicals Limited (Namrup), Assam Power Generation Company (Namrup and Lakwa), Assam Power Distribution Company Limited (Dibrugarh, Jorhat, Sivasagar and Tinsukia), Tinsukia Development Authority, NF Railway establishments here and in Tinsukia, officials and staff of the Bogibeel Project, and the Assam Medical College here.
