DIBRUGARH, March 20 - Deputy Commissioner Pallav Gopal Jha today held discussions on various protocols and personal protection measures a medical professional is required to maintain while screening suspected cases of COVID-19 in their respective hospitals.
In an orientation-cum-training programme on COVID-19 for medical officers held today in the conference hall of the Deputy Commissioner here, Jha stressed on the importance of home quarantining of each and every person with travel history to the COVID-19 affected areas.
Deputy Commissioner Jha said that home quarantining of such persons is the best way to contain the spread of COVID-19 in the district. He also directed Circle Officers to take strict action against such persons, who do not observe home quarantine guidelines.
Jha also appealed to all medical professionals to make people aware about the process of home quarantining. The tea garden authorities present in the programme were also asked to make tea garden labourers aware about social distancing and preventive measures to be taken up to prevent the virus from spreading, a release stated.
