Dibrugarh civic portal launched

DIBRUGARH, April 10 - The website of the Dibrugarh Municipal Board, Assam�s oldest municipality, was formally launched on Saturday by Dibrugarh Deputy Commissioner Laya Madduri at an official function held at the DC�s conference hall.

The website, www. dibrugarhmunicipality.org.in would be made a fully informative one on the civic body, apart from having online tax payments facilities, etc.

Speaking on the occasion, Dibrugarh Municipal Board chairman Anuradha Dey and executive officer Dipu Kumar Deka said the website has taken Dibrugarh to the digital platform. They urged members of the public to avail of the services provided on the portal.

Repeating her appeal to the citizens, DC Laya Madduri said the wholehearted cooperation from the citizens is absolutely essential to keep Dibrugarh a clean and orderly city. She urged members of the public to instal the Swachh Bharat app on their mobile phones and be active participant in the cleanliness efforts of the Government.

Deka said the municipal board is arranging for handcarts for doorstep collection of garbage, and appealed to the citizens to avail of the service, which is provided at a nominal cost of Rs 50 per family per month. He said the service has been commenced, and the entire city would be covered in the coming days.
