DIBRUGARH, June 22 - The 24-hour district bandh called by the district unit of an outfit called the Hindu Kranti Dal in protest against alleged killing of one Saurav Das of Lezai Dewanbari village, was withdrawn at noon today when police intervened, terming it illegal.

Dibrugarh district Superintendent of Police Sreejith T led a massive march along with police personnel on the main thoroughfares of the commercial localities here requesting traders to operate their business as usual. The district president of the Hindu Kranti Dal released a video statement, saying the bandh has been withdrawn.
