Dibrugarh bags four top ranks in HSLC

DIBRUGARH, June 2 � The Dibrugarh district bagged at least four top ranks in the HSLC examination held under Secondary Education Board of Assam (SEBA) this year. The results were declared today.

While Sumona Kalita of Moran Jatiya Vidyalaya, Moran secured the fifth rank, Shirsa Majumdar of Salt Brook School here bagged the seventh rank, Sanchita Kejriwal, also of Salt Brook School, and Kasturika Konwar of Pithubar Balika Uchchotom Madhyamik Vidyalaya grabbed the eighth rank.

Kasturika Konwar, Shirsa Majumdar and Sanchita Kejriwal scored full 100 marks in Mathematics. Shirsa scored 100 marks in Advance Mathematics too. Several other students from various schools scored 100 marks in various subjects but missed a rank by a whisker.

Sumona Kalita is the daughter of Reba Kalita and Ranju Saikia Kalita of Dikhari village in Moran. Shirsa Majumdar is the son of Gautam Majumdar and Tapasi Majumdar of Lachitnagar here. Kasturika Konwar is the daughter of Viveka Konwar and Diprekha Konwar of Somuwa village in Khowang. Sanchita Kejriwal is the daughter of Rajesh Kejriwal and Mamta Kejriwal of Shantipara. All the achievers expressed their desire to pursue higher studies in the Science stream.

Specific information like performance of the district and the number of first division, second division and third division holders in the district could not be gathered as SEBA failed to distribute the booklet containing the results to the schools.
