DIBRUGARH, Oct 24 - After taking into account the safety measures, discipline, cleanliness, law and order, proper deployment of volunteers, upholding religious spirit and other allied arrangements at puja pandals, the Jyotinagar Sarbajanik Durga Puja Samity bagged the first position, while Graham Bazar Municipality Colony Durga Puja Samity got the second and Shree Marwari Durga Puja Samity, Marwari Patty got the third position.
Bokel Sarbajanin Durga Puja Samity has been selected for a special prize.
The Dibrugarh district administration announced the names of the winning puja committees on Friday night. The prizes would be given away by the administration at the Republic Day celebrations next year.
However, the Jyotinagar Sarbajanik Durga Puja Samity became first in the favourite category and second for best discipline and cleanliness by UATV. Meanwhile, as per the selection of GTPL-V&S Cable (P) Ltd., Jyotinagar Sarbajanik Durga Puja Samity was third for best decoration in upper Assam.
