Diaries of Padmanath Gohain Baruah donated

TEZPUR, June 8 - With an aim of preservation and digitalisation of different valuable books, the family members of noted litterateur Padmanath Gohain Baruah on Tuesday handed over his diaries to the Tezpur University.

On the 5th anniversary day of Padmanath Gohain Baruah, the family members of the literary icon and the office-bearers of the Tezpur Sahitya Sabha under the aegis of Hemanta Kumar Baruah and Pankaj Baruah handed over the diaries university�s Pro-VC Dr Manabendra Bhuyan and Professor Dr Ranjit Kumar Deva Goswami of Srimanta Sankardev chair and Assamese Study Centre.

Receiving the materials, Dr Goswami said that the Assamese study centre of the university has become the owner of a set valuable property. �Within four to five months, the whole world can access the dairies,� he said, adding that because it would be presented before the world community through digitalisation.
