DHUBRI, April 1 - Dhubri Police recently recovered a 22-year-old local girl from Gurgaon in Haryana and apprehended one person in this connection. In connection with Dhubri Police Station Case No. 373/18 registered under 366 and 370 of IPC for abduction and human trafficking, a five-member team including a lady constable went to Gurgaon and arrested one Jamir Sk @ Jitu Sk of South College Nagar Ward No. 14 of Dhubri. Police informed that further investigation in this regard is going on. They also informed that a few gangs associated with such activities are still active in the district. Members of such gangs mainly target young girls from poor families and abduct them by ensuring better job opportunity or marriage and then sells them in States like Haryana and New Delhi.
