Dhubri Civil Hospital dirtiest, says Governor

DHUBRI, July 21 - Dissatisfied over the cleanliness of Dhubri Civil Hospital, Assam Governor Prof Jagdish Mukhi said that it is the dirtiest hospital he has ever visited.

Prof Jagdish Mukhi, on his two-day visit to Dhubri district also visited the Dhubri Civil Hospital where he inspected various wards and toilets. After taking a first hand account of the biggest hospital in the district the governor said, �it is the dirtiest hospital.� He also said that the situation here needs quick improvement and directed the Deputy Commissioner, Joint Director of Health and Superintendent of the Hospital to take speedy action to make the hospital clean. He also asked them to make the hospital clean within one month.

In his maiden visit to the district he also visited the BN College, where he found that it lacks a few facilities at par with the national standards of higher education and also said that he will look after the issues of the contractual teachers in the colleges. The Governor also visited Uttar Raipur village, where the electricity arrived just in the month of April and assured that all the village dwellers will get power connection by July 31.

While returning to Guwahati, the Governor also visited the famous terracotta village in Asarikandi. He spent some time there to take a first hand account of the crafts by different artisans and formally released a book named A journey of Development Activism in Indo Bangla Border.
