DHSK College celebrates 71st foundation day

DIBRUGARH, June 15 - The 71st foundation day of the premier DHS Kanoi College here was marked today with a flag hoisting ceremony, lecture session and illumination of the college campus.

The college was established in 1945.

The programme was inaugurated by college�s governing body president Dr Chandra Kanta Gogoi. Eminent writer Dr Nagen Saikia delivered a lecture on the topic �Culture, Civilisation and Knowledge�.

An ex-student of the 1959 batch, Snehalata Borah also attended the programme. Her book titled Fokora Jojona was released by Dr Saikia. She also spoke about her days in the college.

Principal of DHSK College, Dr Sasikanta Saikia in his welcome address said that the department of Hindi had made the college proud by producing a student who secured state highest marks in Hindi. He also felicitated the head of the department of Hindi, Kalpana Sengupta.

Cultural and entertainment programmes were other highlights of the celebrations.
