Dhemaji DC seeks media help to achieve goals

By CORRESPONDENT

DHEMAJI, Oct 16 - Dhemaji Deputy Commissioner Pawar Narshing Sabhaji has sought active cooperation from mediapersons of the district for successful implementation of the developmental works initated by the administration.

Addressing an introductory meeting with the working journalists at the DCs conference hall on Monday, Narshing Sambhaji requested the working journalists to play a vital role for disseminating information of the problems and also give a positive feedback for solving them.

The DC, who recently joined the district, informed that he has conducted DDC meetings with heads of the offices to discuss key issues including township development, improvement of link surface communication, identification of the tourist spots and construction of parking places etc. He sought suggestion and cooperation from mediapersons, technical experts, NGOs and civil society members for preparing a master plan to achieve the targets.

I have asked the officers, officials and public leaders to maintain proper coordination and work with team spirit, he informed.

The DC observed that Dhemaji and other parts of North Assam have abundant natural resources, which are yet to be harnessed due to lack of technology and trained manpower. Moreover, there is available fertile cropland, grassland and wetlands having rich potential for agriculture, horticulture, fishery and animal farming.

He opined that the farming potential, if properly utilised, can give self employment avenue to local unemployed youths, who are thronging to different south Indian states for jobs.

The DC expressed his concern over the traffic congestion at Dhemaji after opening of the Bogibeel bridge linking North Assam and Upper Assam districts. He emphasised on early construction of the proposed by-pass road from Telijaan to Bogibeel via Amguri-Bauli area at South Dhemaji.

The DC also had a meeting with the police officers of the district on the same day and discussed about traffic regulation, control measures against reported illicit liquor and drugs trade besides reviewing the law-and-order situation of the district.
