JORABAT, Jan 12 - State Director General of Police Mukesh Sahay has assured of justice to the family of Vinod Phangso, officer-incharge of Barpathar Police Station, who was killed from bullet injury while chasing miscreants on Sunday night.

Addressing mediapersons during a tribute-paying ceremony in Phangsos native village Chamatapathar near Sonapur on Monday, Sahay assured of a proper probe into the killing of the efficient police officer. He also admitted that the Assam Police had lost one of its bravest officers.

Meanwhile, BJP Member of Parliament Bijoya Chakrabarty has criticised the State government for its failure to give protection to such brave officers of the State.
