Developer of video-calling device felicitated

GOSSAIGAON, June 14 - Subhasish Kar, a young scientist from Gossaigaon studying at the Haldia Institute of Technology in West Bengal, who developed a video-calling app called �Hollo Pic� that makes it possible for a 2D video to be made into 3D, was felicitated by the Bodo People�s Front (BPF) at a meeting held here yesterday.

Subhasish, the son of Sujoy Kar of Joynagar in Gossaigaon town, was felicitated by the BPF Gossaigaon district committee led by district general secretary Reo Rewa Narzary.

Former MLA Hemandra Nath Brahma, and members of the BPF women�s wing, Hirabai Narzary and Suchitra Brahma, presented phulam gamusas to Subhasish.

On the occasion, Subhasish said that to achieve something in life, one should take risks. �Without risks, we cannot reach our goal�, he said. Reo Rewa Narzary said Subhasish has made the BTC region as well as Assam proud through his Hollo Pic device.

Subhasish�s parents were also felicitated at the event.

Md Abdul Wahed from the Gossaigaon Press Club, and Khanindra Nath Das from the Asam Sahitya Sabha, Gossaigaon branch, also felicitated the young scientist, who has been enrolled as a member by the MIT International Science and Technology Initiatives (MISTI), under the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) based in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
