Detailed NRC published online

By STAFF REPORTER

GUWAHATI, Sept 14 - After the publication of complete National Register of Citizens (NRC) on August 31, the detailed version of the registry was made public online today.

The results of all NRC applicants as per draft NRC and supplementary list of inclusions and exclusions (final NRC) have been put on online.

The portal will show results for persons who have applied for inclusion in the NRC up to August 31 and have valid ARN (application receipt number). People can see the results by entering their respective ARN.

Taking into account all the persons already included (draft NRC) and after disposal of all claims and objections, a total of 3,11,21,004 numbers of persons were found eligible for inclusion in the final NRC leaving out 19,06,657 numbers of persons, including those who did not submit claims.

The hard copies of the supplementary list of inclusions were made available for public view at NRC Seva Kendras (NSKs), offices of the Deputy Commissioners and offices of the Circle Officers during office hours from August 31. The status of both inclusion and exclusion can also be viewed online in the NRC website (www.nrcassam.nic.in).

Any person who is not satisfied with the outcome of the claims and objections can file appeal before the foreigners tribunals.

The process of NRC update was started in Assam following a Supreme Court order in 2013 and since then, the apex court had closely monitored the entire process. The process of receipt of NRC application forms started in May 2015 and ended on August 31, 2015.

A total of 3,30,27,661 people applied through 68,37,660 application forms. The particulars submitted by the applicants were taken up for scrutiny to determine eligibility of their inclusion in the NRC.
