Dergaon school emerges best team in science drama fest

DERGAON, Oct 11 - The Dergaon Girls� HS School team was adjudged the best team in the 5th Upper Assam Science Drama Festival (UASDF) held at Jorhat Science Centre and Planetarium (JSCP) recently.

The team performed the drama titled, Pakhir kakalit susubhita dharani and was adjudged the best team. It was selected to represent Upper Assam at the State-level drama festival to be held in the last part of October in Guwahati.

The competition organised in memory of Dr Abani Ch Goswami by JSCP and supported by the Department of Science and Technology of the State government was participated by nine teams representing Lakhimpur, Majuli, Sivasagar, Golaghat and Jorhat districts.

Noted scientist Dr Ramesh Chandra Barua took part in the event as the chief guest.

The programme ended with vote of thanks by Dr Pranabjyoti Chetia where he expressed his gratitude to the Jorhat Deputy Commissioner Narayan Konwar, Assam Science Technology and Environment Council, Guwahati, IGNOU regional centre, Jorhat, ONGC, Jorhat and others for their contributions towards organising the event successfully.
