Dergaon Sahitya Sabha session begins

HEMCHANDRA BARUAH KSHETRA (DERGAON), Feb 1 � �The Assamese language should be conserved through the conservation of local ethnic groups. So we must go for that.� This resolution was taken at the Mother Tongue conferrence held with Rong Bong Terang in the chair at the opening day of 71st session of Asam Sahitya Sabha at Dergaon today.

In the conferrence Dipak Doley (Mising Abang Kebbang), Nagendra Nunisa (Dimasa Sahitya Sabha, Kharga Bahadur Chetry ( Nepali Sahitya Sabha) Nripen Deuri (Deuri Sahitya Sabha), Nava Sapkata (Nepali Sahitya Parishad), Kamal Kr Barman (Koch Rajbongshi Sahitya Sabha), Biswaswar Basumatary (Bodo Sahitya Sabha), etc. participated and offered their opinions.

Earlier, the session was opened by Kanak Ch Sarmah with plantation of saplings in the morning. The book fair was inaugurated by noted writer Imran Shah. In his speech, he said that with excess viewing of electronic channels the mentality of the youth is deteriorating day by day. The souvenir Disoi Daria was released by Rong Bong Terang.

Meanwhile 14 books by reception committee, 9 books by Dergaon Sahitya Sabha, and over 150 books were released in the session today. Among them the book containig facts about Dergaon named Dergaon Dergaon published by the reception committee and printed by Pratyush Prakashan, Dergaon is getting

good response in the book fair. In the evening Ganesh Pegu and Kamini Narjary memorial cultural nite was held.

Tomorrow�s programme include flag hoisting, smriti tarpan, Ramdhenu, Akash and Darsan Sanmilan,will be held. In the evening Rekibuddin Ahmed, Dr Upen Kakoti and Amar Sarmah memorial cultural nite will be held..
