Dergaon Girls� HS School emerges best team in drama festival

DERGAON, Oct 24 - The Dergaon Girls� HS School team was adjudged the best team in the 5th Assam Science Drama Festival held at Regional Science Centre, Khanapara, Guwahati on Tuesday. In the competition, the drama titled Pakhir kakalit susubhita dharani written by Sanjoy Kumar Hazarika and directed by Pankaj Rajkhowa was declared the best drama and was selected to represent Assam at the North East level festival to be held on Friday at the same venue. Pankaj Rajkhowa was adjudged the best director while Namisha Bora was declared the best actress.

The competition, which was organised to inculcate a scientific temperament, saw participation from various parts of the State. The drama with the message of �bird conservation� relating to the focal theme �Science and Society� was also declared as the best team at Upper Assam level festival held on October 7 last. Talking to The Assam Tribune, Principal of Dergaon Girls� HS school Chidananda Pathak expressed his satisfaction over the success of his school team. He also congratulated the participants, namely, Parismita Bora, Shiwani Bora, Porikhita Boruah, Bandita Rabha, Priyakhi Devi, Akankhya Bora, Namisha Bora and Parismita Hazarika, teacher guide Rupam Baruah, script writer Sanjoy Kumar Hazarika and the director Pankaj Rajkhowa for their untiring efforts in achieving this success.
