Depts asked to survey drains near airport

GUWAHATI, April 11 � A meeting was held at the DC�s office here on Friday to discuss the issue of clearing of drains and other water bodies located in the vicinity of the Lokapriya Gopinath Bardoloi International Airport. The meeting was chaired by Dr M Angamuthu, Deputy Commissioner of Kamrup Metro. The DC directed the officials from the Circle Offices, PWD and Water Resources department to conduct joint survey of the drains and rivulets as a precursor to undertaking works to clear blockages and other obstructions in the smooth flow of rain water. He also directed the PWD to remove all hoardings along the SOS Road leading to the airport.
