JAMUGURIHAT, Dec 14 - Pona Ram Swargiary, a school teacher committed suicide recently at his residence at Joysiddhi here in utter frustration as the school was not provincialised, though he gave dedicated service for 30 long years.
Pona Ram was the founder headmaster of Bishnu Rabha Primary School of Khodal Basti, Joysiddhi under Naduar Elementary Education block of Sonitpur district. Pona Ram, with two assistant teachers, had started the school in 1985 in a remote and educationally backward area of North Chatiya.
With three grown-up daughters, Pona Ram dreamt of getting money and marrying off his daughters in time, but as his school was not provincialised for 30 long years, his dream was shattered and in utter frustration and abject penury, he had no alternative but to end his life, sources said.
