Depression claims life of doctor

GUWAHATI, Sept 30: Amid the COVID-induced lockdown, psychological issues have become a serious health concern across the globe. Various studies have revealed that the changing socio-economic environment has already had its impact on human psychology, irrespective of religion or race.

In such a situation, acute depression claimed the life of a city-based doctor Dr Anamitra Shivam. For the past six months he was working as an intern at the Gauhati Medical College and Hospital. On Monday evening his body was found hanging at his residence in Baghorbari area.

After preliminary investigation, the police today said from the suicide note found near the body and other evidences, it was clear that 24-year-old Dr Shivam was suffering from depression and finally took the extreme step.
