Deport aliens based on 51 rolls: VHP

By Spl CORRESPONDENT

NEW DELHI, Aug 21 Alleging that the government was trying to divert attention from the main issue of illegal infiltration from Bangladesh, Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) called for identification and deportation of illegal migrants on the basis of the electoral rolls of 1951.

Addressing a press conference on Tuesday, international working president of VHP, Dr Pravin Togadia warned if the current state of affairs remained unchanged then AIUDF chief Badruddin Ajmal would in 10 years time become the Chief Minister of Assam. Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi, in his own political interest, should try to resolve this problem by identifying and deporting the illegal migrants.

He held Ajmal responsible for whipping up tension in Assam and rest of the country and demanded that the AIUDF chief should be detained.

Urging the Centre to prepare an Action Plan, the VHP leader alleged that neither the UPA nor the NDA governments were interested in resolving the problem. The only solution is to seal the India-Bangladesh border and deport all Muslim Bangladeshis. NRC would solve the problem, if the Union and all the State Governments show political will and set aside greed for votes, he said.
