GUWAHATI, Nov 2 � A dengue fever awareness camp was held on Monday in the premises of New Guwahati Wagon Maintenance Depot at the initiative of the Divisional Mechanical Engineer of New Guwahati, PK Hira.
The meeting was attended by the Zonal Malaria Officer Dr Ramen Hazarika and SDMHO Dr Komaril Sharma. Both the doctors described in detail the dengue fever and its prevention. The Senior Divisional Medical Officer of New Guwahati also dwelt at length on the fatal nature of the disease as well as its prevention.
The meeting began with a warm welcome speech delivered by Hira after all the guests were felicitated.
At the same meeting a handbook on trouble-shooting of WDG4 and WDP4 engines was released by Dr Hazarika and its copies were distributed among loco pilots for ready reference.
A new garden, built by the workers of New Guwahati Wagon Depot, was also declared open by Dr Hazarika. The meeting was attended by over 500 employees of different sections, said a release.
