GUWAHATI, Jan 19 - Members of the State Inland Water Transport Workers� Association, Assam, staged a sit-in demonstration in front of the Inland Water Transport Directorate from 10 am to 4 pm on Monday.
All workers and officials of the department took part in the demonstration. Vice president of Sadou Asom Karmachari Parishad Bhupen Barua addressed the demonstrators.
Association president Prabir Kumar Bora, while speaking on the occasion, said that the employees of the department would stage protest at every place where representatives of the World Bank would go for inspection, a statement said.
