GUWAHATI, Dec 3 - The Octogenarians� Club of Guwahati in its meeting held today under the presidentship of Prof Mahesh Bhuyan extended support to the Centre�s policy of demonetisation.
Several speakers, including Dr Keshab Bardoloi, Dr Amiyo Mohan Das, Prof Kiron Sarma, Suren Baruah, Pushpa Bora, Ramanikanta Deka and Kumud Das, while participating in the discussion, criticised the corrupt practices of former APSC chairperson Rakesh Paul and referred to the past glory of the commission under the chairmanship of persons like Kameswar Das, Jadav Prasad Chaliha, Aghor Bhattacharya, Satyen Barkotoky and Bonily Khongmen.
The speakers also expressed the view that Assam could not afford to rehabilitate any more refugees from Bangladesh.
