Demo staged in front of Nagaon Paper Mill

JAGIROAD, March 6 � The Jagiroad unit of the AASU along with the members of different public organisations staged a demonstration in front of the main gate of the Nagaon Paper Mill (NPM) here on Wednesday to press upon the HPC authority to end the deadlock regarding the admission process in the Kendriya Vidyalaya School here and to take all adequate steps towards ensuring a normal functioning of the school.

Earlier, an ultimatum to the CMD of the HPCL signed by the president and the secretary of the unit, Jitumoni Pathak and Dhrubajyoti Kalita respectively, was submitted to the ED of the NPM. In the ultimatum, the unit said that under the provision of the Right to Education, the HPC must fulfill the judicious demand of the people to continue funding the school towards the salary bill of its employees regularly. �Through this memorandum, we strongly demand that you take all the initiative for opening of the admission process in the KV, HPCL, Jagiroad, failing which we will be constrained to lead a more vigorous movement by involving the masses of the entire district,� the ultimatum said while cautioning that for want of any positive attitude concerning the sound functioning of the school on the part of the HPC authority, the unit would make the CMD of the enterprise fully responsible.

Along with the students� body led by Abanti Kumar Bora, central executive, AASU including the Asom Unnati Sabha led by Atanu Sarma, the �Kendriya Vidyalaya, Jagiroad Suraksha Mancha� led by Prabir Kumar Banerjee, president also submitted memoranda addressed to the Union Minister of Human Resource Development, Union Minister of Public Enterprises and Heavy Industries and Union Minister of Sports and Youth Welfare and MP, Nagaon separately through the Circle Officer, Mayong which was received by him in presence of all the demonstrators.
