Demand for stay on Baksa DC�s transfer

BARAMA, May 8 � As many as 12 local organisations have demanded the cancellation of the order of transfer of Vinod Seshan, Baksa DC. These include the Barama unit of the AASU, ABSU, Sarania Kachari Students� Union, Sahitya Sabha and Rabha Students� Union, Barama Sports Club, Barama Business Association, Barama Senior Citizens� Association, Baksa Press Club, etc.

These bodies sent a joint memorandum to the Chief Minister and the Chief Secretary through the Circle Officer of Barama, demanding a stay order on the transfer of the Baksa DC.

The memorandum stated that the Baksa DC had taken positive steps to uplift the district. He took immediate steps to develop roads, education, sericulture, health, electrification, agriculture, etc. The office-bearers of the 12 organisations expressed serious concern over the transfer order of the Baksa DC and appealed to the Chief Minister to cancel the order in the interest of the people of the district.
