DIBRUGARH, July 26 - The All Adivasi Students Association of Assam (AASAA) has urged upon the Directorate for Welfare of Tea & Ex-Tea Garden Tribes to upload the scholarship forms online instead of just making them available at the office of the Sub-Divisional Welfare Offices.
In the age of digitalization, such scholarship forms must be made available online so that a student can download it from his/her home or from nearby town and need not go to the district offices for collecting the forms. It would be more convenient if it is available online because students can save time and money by not travelling to the offices in the district headquarters. There must also be an option for getting the scholarship forms filled online for easy documentation, scrutiny and transparency, said Deven Oraon, general secretary, AASAA.
The scholarship announced recently by the Director, Welfare of Tea & Ex-Tea Garden Tribes is meant for the students belonging to the tea and ex-tea garden tribes. The form, as per the announcement is obtainable from Sub-Divisional Welfare Offices for the award of scholarships for financial assistance for higher education.
