DIBRUGARH, Aug 28 - The All Adivasi Students� Association of Assam (AASAA) today urged upon Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal to take steps to declare Bhado Ekadosi (on August 29) a State holiday in view of Karam Puja of the Adivasis.
The Adivasi student body also called upon the Chief Minister to ensure the establishment of research centres for the protection of rich Adivasi culture and its various languages.
The student body further demanded erection of auditoriums in every tea garden and Adivasi populated villages in the State.
The district unit of AASAA here along with other district and regional units submitted a memorandum today to the Chief Minister through the district administration in support of their demands.
