Demand for DD satellite channel in Assamese

GUWAHATI, April 19 - A delegation of Producers� Council led by its president Brajen Borah and general secretary Deepak K Dutta submitted a memorandum to Union Information & Broadcasting Minister M Venkaiah Naidu yesterday seeking creation of a 24*7 Doordarshan satellite channel in Assamese language to broadcast programmes to educate, entertain and inform the cross-section of Assamese population in Assam and around the world in the line of DD channels like DD Bangla, DD Odisha, DD Bihar and others, Abhijit Kashyap, assistant secretary of the council said in a release.
