HAFLONG, May 11 - NCHAC Executive Member incharge of Medical department, Samuel Changsan distributed Atal Amrit Abhiyan demand drafts to 9 beneficiaries worth Rs 5, 64,879 at the office chamber of the Joint Director of Health Services here on Friday.
This is the third phase of distribution done in the mode of reimbursement to those beneficiaries with an income of Rs 5 lakh or less. After this round, beneficiaries will now be able to take benefits by producing cashless cards and receive quality healthcare at the empanelled hospitals throughout the State and anywhere in the country.
The Government of Assam on December 25, 2016 had launched the Atal Amrit Abhiyan, a unique health assurance scheme for the benefit of economically-poor people of the State.
It may be noted here that under the scheme, patients suffering from six critical diseases such as cancer, cardio-vascular disease, kidney disorder, neurological conditions, burn injuries and neo-natal complications, get monetary assistance up to Rs 2 lakh. Under this scheme, a family of five will be eligible for a total maximum sum of Rs 10 lakh with Rs 2 lakh to each member.
The ceremonial distribution was done in presence of Dr Dipali Barman, Joint Director of Health Services, Dr Lina Hakmaosa, Dr Silpi Saikia, Dr Marina Changsan and DPM of National Health Mission, Rukmini Difoesa, staff nurse, office staff, Asha workers and media persons.
