KOKRAJHAR, Feb 22 - BTC chief and BPF supremo Hagrama Mohilary, accompanied by dozens of supporters, including former transport minister Chandan Brahma, ex-BTC executive member Derhasat Basumatary and BTC executive member Doneswar Goyary, on Friday filed a criminal defamation case at the Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Court, Kokrajhar against Abdur Rahim Khan, AIUDF leader and MLA of Barpeta LAC.
The criminal defamation plea, which was heard before the court of Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate, Kokrajhar, has sought action against the AIUDF MLA under sections 499, 500 of the IPC for offences that involve making and disseminating defamatory statements.
Later talking to media persons on the Kokrajhar court premises, Mohilary alleged that the AIUDF MLA had made some defamatory statements like �terrorist�, �jungli�, etc., on February 1 this year in a local television channel with intent to harm his reputation and the BPF.
