GUWAHATI, Sept 11 - The Ugratara Devalaya managing committee secretary, Paresh Kalita, and the ad hoc doloi of the shrine, Kamal Bhattacharyya, have filed a Rs 5 crore defamation suit against Kailash Sarma, Banikanta Sarma and 13 others.
The complainants have alleged that the accused were involved in a false campaign in the media to malign the temple management and held a meeting on the temple premises without the due permission of the competent authority.
The hearing of the case will be held on September 21.
