Deepjyoti brings glory to Doomdooma

DOOMDOOMA, June 23 - Deepjyoti Bhatta, who is the only son of Jonali Devi and Pradip Bhatta, a priest at the Shiva Temple situated at KP Road here, has made Doomdooma proud by securing first class first position along with gold medal in the five-year integrated masters course in English from the Department of English and Foreign Language of Tezpur University this year.

Meritorious since childhood, Deepjyoti wishes to be a professor in future. Besides the academic field, he has an aptitude for creative writing and social work. He was the magazine convenor of Tezpur University Students� Council for the session 2016-17 and the editor of the 12th issue of annual magazine of the university titled Srijan. He also held the post of data and documentation coordinator of the National Service Scheme of Tezpur University during 2015-16.

He is also a Visharad in Hindi under Asom Rashtrabhasha Prachar Samiti. He presented one research paper each in an international conference and a national seminar. His areas of interest are gender studies, popular culture, literature and cyber space.

Talking to this Correspondent, Deepjyoti credited his success to his parents, teachers and also due to his sustained dedication and hard work.

In the meantime, various individuals and organisations of Doomdooma, including his alma mater Lotus Academy congratulated him on his success.
