GUWAHATI, Sept 28 - Actress and MLA Angoorlata Deka handed the Deepa Goswami Silpi Bota 2019 to noted dramatist Asim Kumar Nath at a function held at Guwahati Press Club on Friday, said a release today.
The annual award, instituted by Deepa Goswami Memorial Trust in 2014, includes a cash prize, memento, citation and books. Nath, head of Sipajhar-based drama group Sarsa, was chosen for the award this year by a jury comprising journalist Sanjib Kumar Phukon, dramatist Rituparna Das, journalist Sibanu Bora and actor Dr Alekhya Baruah.
The award function was presided over by journalist Naren Hazarika. Dramatist-novelist and husband of Deepa Goswami, Prabhat Goswami also spoke. The meeting was also attended by writer Dinesh Kakati Nath, actor Dilip Bora and Chandana Sarma.
