Debate, art, logo contest at Golaghat

DERGAON, Oct 1 - Preparations are under way to celebrate the foundation day of Golaghat-based socio-cultural organisation Uttaran with a daylong programme on October 8.

To mark the celebration, a state-level debate competition, art contest and logo competition among the students has been organised at Golaghat.

A debate on the topic: �Aggression of Indian culture has become a threat to Assamese indigenous culture� will be open for students from Class-IX to higher classes without limit from across the state.

The best and second best debaters will be awarded cash prizes in fond memory of Sobhan Chandra Gogoi.

The art competition will be held in two groups, i.e., Group �A� from Class-I to Class-IV, and Group �B� from Class-V to Class-VIII respectively. The best three competitors in both the groups will be awarded cash prizes along with citation.

The best logo artiste will be also awarded a cash prize.

The daylong programme will start with hoisting of the insigne and formal lighting of the ceremonial earthen lamp in the morning. Interested competitors have been advised to contact Parikhit Dutta or Meghali Saikia for any further details on or before October 4.
