BONGAIGAON, July 30 - The All Bodo Students Union (ABSU) observed the anti-terrorism day today in connection with the death anniversary of Jwhwlao Swmbla Basumatary at Goyebari in Basugaon area in Chirang district.
Swmbal Basumatary, the then president of the student organisation, was shot dead in his residence at Kokrajhar in 1996 by some terrorists.
BSU president Pramod Boro inaugurated the programme by hoisting the flag of the student body and described the latest forms of terrorism and their impact on the society and the nation as a whole.
Bhanumati Basumatary paid homage to her late husband at the Swmbla Basumatary�s memorial tomb at the park.
In the seminar on terrorism, former Rajya Sabha MP Urkhaw Gwra Brahma and BTC member Rwngwra Narzary spoke.
