SILCHAR, July 20 - In a joint initiative, Deputy Commissioners of Cachar and Dima Hasao visited the East-West Corridor on Tuesday along with respective team of experts to take stock of the factors affecting progress of the project.
Later, in a meeting at Maibong, S Vishwanathan, Deputy Commissioner of Cachar and Amarendra Baruah, Deputy Commissioner of Dima Hasao, said that this initiative is taken as per the instructions received from Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal who is taking special interest to complete the project at the earliest.
A report of the inspection will be sent to the regional office of State board for wildlife based in Shillong. The Deputy Commissioners have also said that following the approval from the board, the road will be constructed within 36 months and all the complications regarding the project shall be addressed within November this year.
